We are pleased to announce a new round of awards available via LabGiving ( www.lablife.org/labgiving ), a funding program that directly connects scientists with donors interested in supporting biomedical research. The following award opportunities are now available through LabGiving: 



a) RECOMBINANT DNA TECHNOLOGY AWARD (4 awardees, $5,000 each) - Addgene 
Deadline: September 15, 2010

Description: Awarding labs for creating novel plasmid or DNA technology 

b) CANCER DIAGNOSTICS AWARD (2 awardees, $5,000 each) - Fan Family Foundation 
Deadline: October 1, 2010

Description: Awarding labs for innovative research in cancer diagnostics 

LabGiving applications are designed to take <1 hour to fill out and provide an excellent chance for labs to secure money for items such as new computers, laboratory equipment or reagents. 

Recent award winners through the LabGiving program include Dr. Eric Campeau (Univ of Mass, Worcester), Dr. Daniel Geschwind (UCLA), Dr. Tom Gilmore (Boston Univ), Dr. Keith Joung (Mass General Hospital), Dr. Steve Koch (Univ of New Mexico), Dr. Marty Mayo (Univ of Virginia), and Dr. Masaaki Tamura (Kansas State University).
