Calliope – Summer Readings 

(in collaboration with Featherstone Center for the Arts, Martha’s Vineyard and the Falmouth Artists Guild)

Jorie Graham is the author of numerous collections of poetry, most recently P L A C E (Ecco, May 2012) and Sea Change (Ecco, 2008). She won the 1996 Pulitzer Prize for Poetry for The Dream of the Unified Filed: Selected Poems (1974 – 1994), and has edited two anthologies, Earth Took of Earth: 100 Great Poems of the English Language and The Best American Poetry 1990 . She is a recipient of a John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Fellowship and has served as a Chancellor of The Academy of American Poets from 1997 to 2003. Jorie currently is the Boylston Professor of Rhetoric at Harvard University. 



Opening Reader, Lauren Wolk is an artist, poet and novelist. Her poems have appeared in roger, Nimrod, PrimeTime, Cape Women, A Place of Her Own, and elsewhere. Her first novel, Those Who Favor Fire was published by Random House (1999), and her second , Forgiving Billy , won the Hackney Award and was twice nominated for the Pushcart Editor’s Book Award. Lauren is currently at work on her third novel and a collection of poems and is currently the Associate Director of the Cultural Center of Cape Cod. 



Music: Chapoquoit Cello Quartet (Emily Faris, Sofia Gabriell, Kaylee Lino, Kurran Singh) 



A book signing reception follows the Readings. A suggested donation of $20, at the door . 

(Donations fund Calliope’s poets’ stipend for its regular season and its craft workshops.)
