[Classifieds] Technician position in the Chisholm Lab

SENIOR RESEARCH SUPPORT ASSOCIATE (BIOLOGY OF OCEAN MICROBES), Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE)/Biology-Chisholm Lab<https://chisholmlab.mit.edu/>, to join a multidisciplinary group studying the ecology of the marine microorganism Prochlorococcus, the most abundant photosynthetic cell on the planet. The research team specializes in studying this microbe from the genome level to whole ocean scale using integrative systems biology approaches. Job responsibilities will include maintaining bacterial cultures and lab equipment, ordering lab consumables, carrying out culturing experiments, running, and analyzing flow cytometry samples, and performing general upkeep and organization of the lab. The position will also offer opportunities to work on multiple projects and subjects and to co-author research papers.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: a high school diploma or its equivalent; bench research experience; ability to independently and efficiently execute, analyze, and troubleshoot experiments; excellent organizational, analytical, and oral and written communication skills; self-motivation; and ability to multitask and work with others.  PREFERRED:  B.S./B.A. in biology or related science field; experience with microbial culturing, molecular biological techniques, and flow cytometers.  Job #21106-4.
