Summer Seasonal Park Interpreters



Department of Conservation and Recreation, State Parks

Massachusetts State Parks are home to significant natural resources, endangered landscapes, and historic cultural landmarks. DCR Park Interpreters guide recreational and educational connections for the public at these parks. Join us!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Park Interpreter provides customer service and resource interpretation for visitors. Tasks include visitor information and orientation, presenting programs that reflect the natural, cultural and historical stories of the park, coordinating special events and programs with public or private organizations.

LOCATIONS:

Dighton Rock State Park, June 6 to September 5, 2022

Horseneck Beach State Reservation, June 6 to September 5, 2022

Wompatuck State Park, June 6 to September 5, 2022

Boston Harbor Islands, June 13 to September 5, 2022



QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants must be at least eighteen years old, possess a basic knowledge of natural and cultural history, have experience working with the public, possess solid communications skills, have the ability to follow oral and written instructions, and the ability to work in a team setting. Current driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

EMPLOYMENT INFORMATION:

Seasonal Park Interpreters work a forty-hour week (which includes weekends, holidays, and possibly evenings). Starting salary is $14.25/hour. Uniforms and training are provided. Park housing is not provided.
