With over 40 years of producing award-winning audio, Jim Metzner pioneered
the use of sound in radio. His work has been featured in Wired Magazine, the
 New York Times, Audio Magazine, National Geographic, the Wall Street
Journal, the CBS Evening News, and the Today Show. Metzner’s flagship
syndicated series Pulse of the Planet provides its listeners with a
two-minute sound portrait of Planet Earth.

A Fulbright Specialist in Media & Communication, Metzner has recorded all
over the world. His sound archive has been acquired by the Library of
Congress, where in time its many sounds, interviews, and programs will be
available to the public.

Metzner was also a Logan Science Journalism Fellow at the Marine Biological
Laboratory.

In 2022, Metzner launched the *American Soundscape Project*, a
call-to-action to identify, record and celebrate the significant sounds of
