Job Title: Conservation Agent



Salary/Compensation: Starting pay $25.50 per hour



Location of position: Yarmouth, MA

Description of employer: The Town of Yarmouth is located on Cape Cod, bound on the north by Cape Cod Bay and the south by Nantucket Sound. Yarmouth encompasses 28.2 square miles and has a rich landscape with 39 miles of coastal shoreline and 1,230 acres of salt marsh. Yarmouth has a population of just over 24,000 residents, and the town has a strong sense of economic development and community preservation.



Work schedule: 8:30am-4:30pm M-F, required to work evenings as needed.

The Town of Yarmouth seeks a qualified candidate for a Conservation Agent to assist the with the administration of the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act and Yarmouth Wetlands Bylaw, performing administrative and technical work to support the operations of the Conservation Commission. Responds to inquiries from the public and other town offices, providing guidance and assistance regarding regulatory matters and explains applicable procedures. Responsible for enforcement tracking and management, monitoring open permits, and administrative review applications.



Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, planning, engineering, or related field, or Associates Degree plus one year of related training and/or experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Class D driver’s license required.
