Please join us Tuesday, October 10 from 10-11 a.m. for a presentation by Dr. MaryJane Proulx<https://canoemuseum.ca/maryjane-proulx-td-indigenous-early-career-exhibits-project-coordinator/>, Exhibit Projects Coordinator at The Canadian Canoe Museum<https://canoemuseum.ca/>. The presentation will take place at Redfield Auditorium (45 Water St, Woods Hole MA) and streamed on Zoom (RSVP<https://whoi-edu.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_BIABWhwRReauqCPasVqbAw> required for Zoom attendees). Working Together: Traditional Ecological Knowledge, Reciprocity and Environmental Stewardship

Dr. MaryJane Proulx

 

MaryJane is a Nishinaabeg-Scottish kwe from Nogojiwanong (Peterborough), Ontario who currently works for the Canadian Canoe Museum as Exhibits Project Coordinator. MaryJane is a graduate of Trent University's History and Environmental Resource Studies programs, has a diploma in Ecosystem Management Technology and a certificate in Museum Management & Curatorship. She has worked as an Artisan Interpreter and Tour Guide at the Canoe Museum, teaching visitors about Indigenous-settler histories through the story of the canoe. She has also worked for Dalhousie University as a researcher, exploring Indigenous knowledge systems and partnerships in ocean stewardship. MaryJane’s ultimate goal in both her personal and academic career is to bridge cultures through ecological problem solving and storytelling.
