Falmouth Academy Alumnus will Discuss Data Privacy at November 8th
Community Series at FA

In the last five years, the issue of data privacy has become more important
than ever in the United States. Federal inaction has led states to take the
lead on regulating areas of online privacy, reproductive health data, and
children's privacy, to name a few.

Falmouth Academy trustee and alumnus Andrew Kingman ’00, President of
Mariner Strategies LLC, will discuss these issues during his November 8th
Community Series presentation, which will be held at Falmouth Academy at 7
PM in Morse Hall. His talk will be recorded and shown live on FA's Facebook
page

.

Kingman works on these issues with the business community. He will discuss
why Congress hasn't passed legislation in this area, what the states are
doing, and what the next several years portend for issues such as
Artificial Intelligence.

Kingman specializes in privacy, technology, and cybersecurity issues in all
50 states, at both the legislative and Attorney General levels. As a public
policy advocate with experience in compliance, he brings a unique and
substantive perspective to discussions on how best to increase consumer
privacy protections while maintaining operational workability and
cybersecurity protections for businesses.

Kingman is a nationally recognized thought leader in the data privacy field
and in 2020, he was one of 25 attorneys named to Massachusetts’ Lawyers
Weekly's “Up and Coming Lawyers” list. He received his BA in government
from Skidmore College and his JD from Suffolk University Law School.

The Falmouth Academy Community Series is sponsored in part by the Woods
Hole Foundation. The series is free and open to the public.
