The Association to Preserve Cape Cod<https://apcc.org/> (APCC) is seeking a qualified individual who is passionate and knowledgeable about native plants and ecological landscapes to be the team leader of APCC’s Eco-landscape Audit Program. It will be the second year for the program designed to offer ecological landscape consultations for homeowners.

The program team will consist of one or two summer interns and the manager will be the team leader. The position is responsible for, but not limited to, being the point of contact for the program, scheduling of appointments with clients, traveling to and conducting the on-site with the homeowner assisted by the intern(s), mentoring the summer interns, reviewing and/or preparing eco-audit reports. Position reports to the Associate Director for Education.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities. The candidate must be knowledgeable and enthusiastic about native plants, green infrastructure, general natural history, and best ecological landscape practices. Landscape design skills are not a requirement but are a plus. Foremost, this is an educational program and therefore the candidate must enjoy engaging with the public and be able to communicate information effectively and have good writing skills.

Minimum Education Requirements: Undergraduate degree in environmental science/sustainability/landscape design or equivalent education and demonstrated experience.

Working Conditions.

  *   The is a temporary position – April through November, 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:30 – 4:30 p.m.

  *   Position requires moderate mobility, and the ability to traverse uneven terrain as may be necessary to conduct site visits.

  *   Candidate must have dependable transportation to and from appointments Cape-wide.

  *   Mileage is paid per IRS rate for travel.

  *   The work week is 37.5 hours, Monday through Friday, 8:30-4:30.

  *   Pay rate: $25/hour
