ROBIN JOYCE MILLER
Black Art & Activism: America to Me
Thursday, February 1, 2024 at 6 PM
In a dynamic community collaboration, Falmouth Academy and the Woods Hole
Diversity Advisory Committee (DAC) proudly present an evening with local
artist and activist, Robin Joyce Miller. This event, part of the Falmouth
Academy Community Series, marks the inaugural celebration of Black History
Month 2024, embracing this year’s national theme of "African Americans and
the Arts."

The evening commences at 6 PM with an artist reception in Falmouth
Academy's Simon Center for the Arts, showcasing Miller's impactful artwork.
At 7:00 PM, Miller will be interviewed by Mindy Todd, host of CAI's
award-winning radio show, "The Point,” discussing her art, activism, and
her latest series, "America to Me," exploring themes of democracy and
freedom.

Robin Joyce Miller, a retired New York City educator and a current trustee
at Cotuit Center for the Arts, brings over thirty years of experience to
this exceptional event. Renowned as the Art Educator of the Year in 2007,
Miller's journey from educator to accomplished artist is truly inspiring.
Throughout her tenure in the NYC public school system, Miller passionately
served as an arts educator and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)
advocate, leaving an indelible mark on the intersection of education and
the arts.
