Please join us on April 9 from 11 a.m.-noon for a presentation by Patricia A. Matthew, Professor, of English at Montclair University. PATRICIA A. MATTHEW, ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF ENGLISH AT MONTCLAIR STATE UNIVERSITY

“DIVERSITY AND/AS PRAXIS”



This talk will focus on what Black feminist thought can teach us about collaboration, intellectual inquiry, and inclusivity. It takes as its starting point the praxis developed by Black women working on institutional change and community building.

Patricia A. Matthew<https://www.patriciamatthew.com/> is associate professor of English at Montclair State University, where she specializes in the history of the British novel, British Romanticism and British abolitionist culture. She co-edits the Oxford University Press Series Race in Nineteenth-Century Literature and Culture. An expert on diversity and equity in higher education, she is the editor of Written/Unwritten: Diversity and the Hidden Truths of Tenure (University of North Carolina Press).
