<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: 0.5in;"><span class="previewmsgtextvisualiefloatfix">In "The Behavior of the
Hawkweeds," the story of growing alienation between a professor and his
wife is set against a backdrop of the story of Gregor Mendel and his growing
disillusionment with science. "Birds with No Feet" tells the story of
a young naturalist working in the Malay Archipelago at the same time as Alfred
Russell Wallace, who developed a theory of evolution by natural selection
contemporaneously with Darwin.
Both of these stories deal with real historical <span> </span>science, the people doing science, and the way
it affects their lives.</span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: 0.5in;"><br><span class="previewmsgtextvisualiefloatfix"></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: 0.5in;"><span class="previewmsgtextvisualiefloatfix"></span>
