This geological event has become a social tragedy in my country.
See information here:

http://edition.cnn.com/2010/WORLD/americas/03/03/chile.earthquake/index.html

My city TALCAHUANO was one of the most affected, because also a tzunami swept homes and schools in our area.

I ´m a science teacher who is now involved in a campaign to help their children to go to school again. While schools were devastated by the earthquake, will begin classes in emergency nursing, for now.

Please, we need your help !!

It begins the school year and there are children in Talcahuano city, which have nothing to go to the school: We need school supplies and school clothes urgent!

We also need blankets … we have families which are homeless now , living in some “pseudo shelters” of rubble left after the earthquake and tzunami ( made by them self ) with piece of tables, wood and metal roofs that collected from right there, and sleep wet and cold and are no beds on the floor hugging each other to keep warm ... are in sub human conditions.

Food already received at least, but things that little children go to school, no nothing ...

And another thing, We also appreciate if you can send them some toys … the children have noting to play with … so, if someone has a toy in good condition (preferably other than electric, because there are no batteries ) would be great if they send too.

This Children need mental health, education and recreation, so please, that will do what they are experiencing and contemplating the bleak landscape around them every morning, after going cold and rain at night now, jumping in fear at every sound and movement, deep in rubble and bathed in a foul smell ... That's their reality ... do something, please.
