to be held at the Marine Biological Laboratory (MBL) this Sunday, August 1 in
the Lillie Auditorium, 7 MBL Street, Woods Hole. The event, presented by
Shawmut Design and Construction, will support the MBL’s research and
education programs.<br>

The Tokyo String Quartet has captivated audiences and critics alike since it
was founded 40 years ago. </span><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman";">Regarded
as one of the supreme chamber ensembles of the world</span><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; color: black;">,
the quartet</span><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman";">—Martin Beaver
and Kikuei Ikeda (violins), Kazuhide Isomura (viola) and Clive Greensmith
(cello)—has collaborated with a remarkable array of artists and composers,
built a comprehensive catalogue of critically acclaimed recordings, and
established a distinguished teaching record. Performing over a hundred concerts
worldwide each season, the quartet has a devoted international following that
includes the major capitals of the world and extends to all four corners, from
Australia to Estonia, to Scandinavia and the Far East.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style=""><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman";">This year’s program includes: Haydn
Quartet in F Major, Op. 77, No. 2; Bartok Quartet No. 4; Schumann Quartet in A
