The Woods Hole Public Library begins their winter film series in early January. There will be kids’ films every Saturday in January, and most Saturdays in February. They will be shown at 3 pm in the lower level meeting room and are free and open to the public.

Most of the films are recent releases, with a few older treasures included for good measure.

Because of the strictures on the Library’s license for public viewing, the actual title of the films cannot be included in publicity. In the past, the public and the library have enjoyed riddles to the titles. The first film, which will be shown on Saturday, January 7, is animated. Its title is a twist on “Three Men and a Baby”, substituting a cloven footed animal for the men. Its story is a version on an old folk tale with the same number of cloven footed animals in its title.

The Jim Henson studio produced this film which runs for 1 hour and 20 minutes. If anyone cannot solve the riddle of the title, they may simply call the Library at 508-548-8961 and ask. The title may be divulged to anyone who calls.

The first film for adults in the Library’s winter film series will be shown on Monday evening, January 9 at 7 pm. Our riddle for title is: Substitute the correct synonyms at each end of the title for “Time of Day/Night” in “Major European City, (famous for its art and romance)”. The film, written and directed by Woody Allen, was just released in 2011 and is billed as a romantic comedy about a family visiting this city. Rated PG 13 and runs 94 minutes. As always if you cannot answer the riddle, feel free to call the Library for the correct answer to the title. 508-548-8961.
