A NEW WAY TO COMMUNICATE WITHIN THE WOODS HOLE SCIENCE COMMUNITY</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Times"><br>
<a href="http://www.researchgate.net/" target="_blank">ResearchGate</a> (http://www.researchgate.net/) is a new way to
communicate within the Woods Hole science community. It can be used in a
variety of ways, but the hope is that it will foster greater communication and
collaboration. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Times"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Times">ResearchGate
has some great features for setting up invitation-only workgroups (such as a
forum for discussion, with links to people's profiles and publications). It
could be the one-stop shop for info pertaining to the Woods Hole community. For
example, ResearchGate is a place:</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Times"><br>
- to post upcoming talks/presentations<br>
- to share recent publications<br>
- to get to know each other better professionally (i.e., maybe there's someone
across the street doing similar work to you)<br>
- to get to know each other better personally (maybe you'd like to organize a
lunchtime frisbee or chess group?)<br>
- to request help on a particular topic that someone in the community may have
expertise on (such as a software program)<br>
- and just generally to foster communication and collaboration.</span></p>
