<p class="MsoNormal">The Woods Hole Public Library’s annual meeting will be held
on Tuesday evening, July 10 starting at 8 PM. After a short business meeting
and election of new trustees, the guest speaker, Cathy Norton will give a talk
about the current state of libraries, specifically the world-wide access in new
digital libraries. <br></p><p class="MsoNormal"><br></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Cathy, who holds a degree from the Simmons Graduate School
of Information and Library Science, is the retired director of the MBL/WHOI
Library. During her tenure there, she oversaw the creation of the electronic
library system<span style=""> </span>that serves the MBL/WHOI
library’s holdings to the scientific community world-wide. <br></p><p class="MsoNormal"><br></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">She holds numerous professional library and<span style=""> </span>information technology organizations and is
past president of the Boston Library Association. She is currently a Library
Scholar in the new Center for Libraries and Informatics at MBL and serves on
the board of Neighborhood Falmouth. <br></p><p class="MsoNormal"><br></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Cathy is always a lively and an entertaining speaker, as
might be guessed by her alternative career. As Justice of the Peace she has
officiated at the weddings of many Woods Hole couples. <br></p><p class="MsoNormal"><br></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The public is welcome.<span style="">
