She won the 1996 </span><i>Pulitzer Prize for Poetry</i><span style="font-style:normal"> for </span><i>The Dream of the Unified Filed: Selected Poems (1974 – 1994),</i><span style="font-style:normal"> and has edited two anthologies, </span><i>Earth Took of Earth: 100 Great Poems of the English Language</i><span style="font-style:normal"> and </span><i>The Best American Poetry 1990</i><span style="font-style:normal">.<b> </b></span> She is a recipient of a <i>John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Fellowship</i><span style="font-style:normal">
and has served as a Chancellor of The Academy of American Poets from
1997 to 2003. Jorie currently is the Boylston Professor of Rhetoric at
Harvard University.</span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-size:17px">Opening Reader, <b>Lauren Wolk</b><span style="font-weight:normal"> is an artist, poet and novelist. Her poems have appeared in <i>roger, Nimrod, PrimeTime, Cape Women, A Place of Her Own, </i></span>and elsewhere. Her first novel, <i>Those Who Favor Fire </i><span style="font-style:normal">was published by Random House (1999), and her second</span><i>, Forgiving Billy</i><span style="font-style:normal">, won the </span><i>Hackney Award</i><span style="font-style:normal"> and was twice nominated for the </span><i>Pushcart Editor’s Book Award.</i><span style="font-style:normal">
Lauren is currently at work on her third novel and a collection of
poems and is currently the Associate Director of the Cultural Center of
