Roman'; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Times New Roman';">Dr. Yentsch received her PhD in Marine Biology in 1970, co-founded the Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences, and co-authored the book, <i>"The Woman Scientist: Meeting the Challenges for a Successful Career."</i> She was one of the first investigators to apply flow cytometry to the study of marine microbes, and conducted pioneering work in the areas of marine optical properties and dinoflagellate ecology (toxic algae blooms). <br></span></span><div><br></div><span style="FONT-FAMILY: Times; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New
