Muldaur is back for his eighth visit, bringing his trademark vocals and
immaculate guitar picking to varied and unusual blues interpretations.
As a
founding member of the 1960s Cambridge-based Jim Kweskin & the Jug
Band, Geoff
helped to create a new style in American musical culture. Their
energetic
mix of ragtime, blues and hometown country music had a far-reaching
influence on
the musical landscape, influencing top artists from Jerry Garcia to John
Sebastian. Geoff has also composed scores for film and television -- his
definitive recording of "Brazil" was featured in Terry Gilliam's film of
the
same title. After a significant hiatus he returned to full-time touring
and
recording, with new albums featuring his singular interpretations of
American
material, both classic and obscure, as well as original compositions.
These
recordings, The Secret Handshake, Password, Private Astronomy and Texas
Sheiks,
have been received with broad and enthusiastic acclaim. With his
inimitable approach to American music Geoff is once again delighting
audiences around the world, playing his guitar and singing his heart
out.
