Soprano Priscilla Herdman is known for her crystalline vocals, incisive interpretations of contemporary folk material, and keen ear in finding songs that explore both personal relationships and political issues. Anne Hills is an award-winning singer and theatrical performer, nurtured in the rich Chicago folk scene, who gained national recognition as both a vocalist and a songwriter. Cindy Mangsen is ranked among the top interpreters of traditional folk ballads, using her expressive alto to share a deep interest in researching and resurrecting historically valuable songs, as well as writing her own. The singers perform acapella or with accompaniment on guitar, banjo, percussion, concertina, accordion harmonica and mountain dulcimer.<span style="font-family:Arial;mso-fareast-font-family:

Enthusiastic responses from audiences around the country culminated in the recording of their first collaborative album, “Voices,” in 1990. <span style="font-family:Arial;mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New

In 1996 the trio decided to create a more formal program that would allow them to tour together for several weeks every year. They also made a live album, “Voices of Winter,” that became popular as a seasonal recording, played on radio stations across the country. A third collaborative effort in 2000, “At the Turning of the Year,” explored the cycle of the seasons through both traditional and contemporary songs.<span style="font-family:Arial;mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New
