The <a href="http://www.woodshole.com" style="color:#ffffff">Woods Hole Business Association</a> and the Woods Hole science community will present the second of two weekends of free events this September to celebrate the legacy of Rachel Carson and the global
impact of local laboratories. “The Sea Around Us: You Are What You Drink,” will commemorate the 11th Annual Buzzards Bay Watershed Ride, which ends at the Marine Biological Laboratory’s Swope Center on October 1.</p>

The Buzzards Bay Coalition is a membership-supported nonprofit organization dedicated to the restoration, protection, and sustainable use and enjoyment of our irreplaceable Bay and its watershed. The Coalition works to improve the health of the Bay ecosystem
for all through education, conservation, research, and advocacy.</p>

In 1863, the Pacific Guano Company built its factory on Long Neck. Using bird excrement imported from South America by clipper ships, and mixing with with locally caught menhaden, the successful industry produced fertilizer for more than 25 years. Find out

by NOAA’s National Marine Fisheries Service, in partnership with the Marine Biological Laboratory.</p>
