<span style=""><span style="">COASTSWEEP is coming! The annual statewide beach cleanup sponsored by CZM will begin in late August—and now is the time to sign up to be a local cleanup coordinator for your favorite beach, marsh, dive site, and riverbank. Volunteers
throughout Massachusetts turn out in large numbers each year for this event, which is part of an international campaign organized by Ocean Conservancy in Washington, DC. Participants all over the world collect trash and other marine debris and record what

renewal establishes a vision for the future of Salem Harbor that is consistent with previous community visioning processes. This plan renewal seeks to protect and enhance the economic, environmental, historic, and cultural resources related to Salem Harbor
and the North River, and to achieve a balance between the residential and business needs of the adjacent neighborhoods, opportunities for the entire city, and the value of the Port of Salem as a regional economic resource. The new Municipal Harbor Plan also
includes a Designated Port Area (DPA) Master Plan that details a strategy to preserve and enhance the capacity of the DPA to accommodate water-dependent industries and prevent substantial displacement of these activities by non-water-dependent uses. The Secretary’s
Decision approves the Plan with modifications and conditions to ensure that sufficient space along the water’s edge will be devoted exclusively to water-dependent use and public access and that conditions of the ground-level environment will be conducive to
