Hosted as part of Round the Bend Farm's Open Farm Day, this workshop with the Rich Earth Institute explores practical and emerging approaches to reclaiming human "waste" as a valuable resource for our watersheds, soils, and food systems. We'll focus on urine
diversion and reuse as a low-tech, high-impact strategy for reducing nutrient pollution in waterways while creating a sustainable, locally-sourced fertilizer. We'll also explore research into biosolids biochar--a charcoal-like soil amendment made from wastewater
treatment plant sludge which can reduce PFAS contamination by up to 90%. Rich Earth Institute and Cornell Cooperative Extension are
