Dear Students,
For those who might be interested, Dr. Les Loew (recently the president
of the biophysical societny) will be visiting MBL to give us an informal
tutorial on the use of the "Virtuall Cell" software package. This is a
program designed to simulate cell physiology using numerical approaches,
and is able to link up model predictions and measurements from a wide range
of experiments such as FRAP.
The tutorial will take place on tuesday of next week in the early
afternoon. his colleague Jim will stay for a few days after the tutorial so
that if anyone wants to try using VCEll for their projects, he can help.
it is free to download, and they suggest that anyone interested should down
load the software and try out some of the tutorials, especially the "FRAP
with binding" tutorial. here is the link:

download VCell (http://vcell.org/run-vcell-software-2)

This is totally optional but I think it could be a nice opportunity to
learn about this interesting software package!

   best regards,
                  Wallace
