From yangj at illinois.edu Mon Jan 11 09:52:57 2021 From: yangj at illinois.edu (Yang, Jing) Date: Mon, 11 Jan 2021 14:52:57 +0000 Subject: [Xenopus] Postdoc position Message-ID: A postdoc position is available in Dr. Jing Yang?s lab in the Department of Comparative Biosciences at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (https://vetmed.illinois.edu/yang-lab/publications/). The Yang lab investigates major developmental transitions using Xenopus and zebrafish. In particular, we are interested in cellular and molecular mechanisms responsible for the deep cytoplasmic remodeling during the oocyte-to-embryo transition. We study remodeling of cellular machineries and organelles during oocyte meiotic maturation and egg activation, how these remodeling events influence the localization/expression/function of maternal factors, and how maternal factors control early embryonic patterning and primordial germ cell development. Highly motivated individuals with a passion for developmental biology are encouraged to apply. Special consideration will be given to candidates with strong experience in cell/developmental/molecular biology. The position is available immediately. The start date is negotiable. To apply, please submit a cover letter with a summary of research experience, curriculum vitae, and a list of three references by email to Dr. Jing Yang: yangj at illinois.edu. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... We are funded by the NIH to make such mutants and are always looking for new mutants. And of course it takes time to make such mutants so start thinking ahead. Second, do not forget that if you want to come and work at the NXR for short term (2,4 or 6 weeks) housing is available from the same grant. Start planning ahead, even in the midst of the difficult travel restrictions, to ensure you get to use the Xenopus cottage. We here at the NXR are always looking to team up with you and provide you the best service. Should you need help, want to send someone here for some training or anything like that then reach out to me. I?ve already had some requests but do start thinking about this.
