I am writing to update you on the topics to be discussed and to request abstracts from individuals wishing to speak at the meeting. As in previous years this meeting is meant to encourage talks that are best suited to the entire community. We have chosen 8 session topics that will be listed below. We encourage all PIs and senior postdocs to submit abstracts if you would like to present at the meeting. </div><div><br></div><div> Please email <a href="mailto:xenopus@mbl.edu" target="_blank" data-mce-href="mailto:xenopus@mbl.edu">xenopus@mbl.edu</a> with your abstract if you would like to be considered for a talk at the meeting. Please keep in mind that even if you are not chosen for a talk the meeting is a fantastic venue for discussions on the topics and will be beneficial to you as the size of the meeting allows for many informal discussions.</div><div><br></div><div> If you would like to present please send us your abstract and in which session you would like to present. In this year's PI meeting we are also adding a new session for new PIs. We encourage all young investigators (assistant professor or equivalent) to submit an abstract for that session as we would like to hear about the research developing in new labs. We would like new investigators to become more involved in the community. Please inform us of your status if you are submitting an abstract for the new PI session.</div><div><br></div><div>The topics that will be covered at the PI meeting are:</div><div><div><div><p style="margin: 0px;" data-mce-style="margin: 0px;"><span style="font-family: verdana, helvetica, sans-serif;">1) Genome Editing</span></p></div><div><p style="margin: 0px;" data-mce-style="margin: 0px;"><span style="font-family: verdana, helvetica, sans-serif;">2) Genomes</span></p></div><div><p style="margin: 0px;" data-mce-style="margin: 0px;"><span style="font-family: verdana, helvetica, sans-serif;">3) Morpholino issues</span></p><p style="margin: 0px;" data-mce-style="margin: 0px;"><span style="font-family: verdana, helvetica, sans-serif;">4) Bioinfomatics/Genomics/Proteomics</span></p></div><div><p style="margin: 0px;" data-mce-style="margin: 0px;"><span style="font-family: verdana, helvetica, sans-serif;">5) Microscopy</span></p></div><div><p style="margin: 0px;" data-mce-style="margin: 0px;"><span style="font-family: verdana, helvetica, sans-serif;">6) new PIs</span></p></div><div><p style="margin: 0px;" data-mce-style="margin: 0px;"><span style="font-family: verdana, helvetica, sans-serif;">7) Husbandry</span></p></div><p style="margin: 0px;" data-mce-style="margin: 0px;"><span style="font-family: verdana, helvetica, sans-serif;">8) Strategic planning</span></p></div></div><div><br></div><div>We are excited by having as many of you as can attend, even if you are not presenting.
