The Resource Identification Initiative is implementing recommendations for better reporting standards provided in a 2011 workshop (see <span class="Object" id="OBJ_PREFIX_DWT2455_com_zimbra_url"><span class="Object" id="OBJ_PREFIX_DWT2462_com_zimbra_url"><a target="_blank" href="https://www.force11.org/node/4145" data-mce-href="https://www.force11.org/node/4145">https://www.force11.org/node/4145</a></span></span>) held under the auspices of the Linking Animal Models to Human Diseases (LAMHDI) consortium. <p style="margin: 0px;" data-mce-style="margin: 0px;">Here is a recent paragraph about these activities in Nature:</p><p style="margin: 0px;" data-mce-style="margin: 0px;"><span class="Object"><span class="Object"><a href="http://www.nature.com/news/researchers-argue-for-standard-format-to-cite-lab-resources-1.17652" target="_blank" data-mce-href="http://www.nature.com/news/researchers-argue-for-standard-format-to-cite-lab-resources-1.17652">http://www.nature.com/news/researchers-argue-for-standard-format-to-cite-lab-resources-1.17652</a></span></span></p></div><div><br></div><div> Xenbase and NXR have discussed this with them and they asked us to reach out to our community to ask users to begin implementing RRID. Attached is a PDF document that Christina and I worked on regarding how you should use this and listed some specific examples. It is important for us as a community to begin using these RRID numbers. For the NXR you can find the RRID numbers on our list of stocks.</div><div><br></div><div> If you have any questions or cannot find an RRID number for a particular animal then contact Xenbase for details. We will both place this PDF on our websites as well.</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div>Sincerely,</div><div><br></div><div>Marko (NXR) and Christina (Xenbase)</div><div><br></div><div><span name="x"></span>---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------<br>Marko Horb, Ph.D.<br>Director, National Xenopus Resource (NXR)<br>Marine Biological Laboratory<br>7 MBL Street<br>Woods Hole, MA 02543<br><div><br></div>Email: xenopus@mbl.edu<br>Office: 508-289-7627<br>Cell: 508-564-3764<br><div><br></div>http://www.mbl.edu/xenopus<br>https://twitter.com/xenopusnxr<span name="x"></span><br></div><div><br></div></div></body></html>
