<p class="MsoNormal">Dear Xenopus community,<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> As a follow up to my previous email I am happy to report that the Xenopus Mutant Resource is now able to host visiting scientists. There are some restrictions of course and this might be limiting for some of you. The biggest
restriction concerns where you are coming from. The state of MA has issued rules for travelers from out of state (<a href="https://www.mass.gov/info-details/covid-19-travel-order">https://www.mass.gov/info-details/covid-19-travel-order</a>). If you are coming
from the Northeast (NY, NJ, CT, VT, NH or ME) then you are fine and can come anytime. If you are traveling from another state then you must either self-quarantine for 14 days before being allowed to come to the MBL or have a negative coronavirus test within
72 hours of arrival; with that you do not need to then quarantine. I realize this will impact many of you.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> The cottage is available for anyone who wants to come beginning October 22; we suggest a minimum of 2 weeks to get work done, but it can be longer if you want. At this time we are operating on a first come first serve basis
as we do not expect a large influx of visitors. In the future this may change depending on demand; I am sure next summer there will be increased demand so make sure to inquire early about the summer months. The cottage is a 2 bedroom cottage with a kitchen
and is a 15 minute walk from MBL. If you are interested in coming to work with any mutants or transgenics we have already made or want to come and make your own mutant here then this is perfect. When you come, you will be assigned a Research Assistant who
will work with you and make sure you can get your frogs when you want them; all common reagents will be provided to you. Housing is free and the only cost is a research facility fee of $500/week to cover the time of my staff and consumables. These funds go
back to the NXR for its use, and for the benefit of the community.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> All of us here look forward to welcoming you and providing support for your research.<o:p></o:p></p>
