The Woods Hole Film Festival, which runs July 25– August 1, will host a special event prior to the festival on Sunday, June 28, entitled “ News & Independent Filmmaking in the Digital Age ” in Redfield Auditorium at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (Water Street). The evening features a discussion at 7:30 PM about how the Internet is changing the way newspapers report news stories and the kinds of stories documentary filmmakers are telling lead by Globalpost.com founder and executive editor Charles Sennott and filmmaker Beth Murphy (Beyond Belief), preceded by a reception with the speakers at 6:00 PM at Quick’s Hole Restaurant (6 Luscombe Avenue) sponsored by the Woods Hole Inn.
