"Greening of Falmouth" Forum Features Dynamic Speakers, Expo & Discussion Moderated by Mindy Todd of WCAI
A reminder to mark your calendars for April 10th , when the next step in the "Greening of Falmouth" is planned.
Speakers from communities with active green planning initiatives will be on hand to share their experiences and motivate local efforts to achieve the goal of the Falmouth Climate Protection Action Plan, which is to reduce CO2 emissions by 10% throughout the town by 2020.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, April 10, 12:30-5:00 pm , at Morse Pond School on 323 Jones Road. Guest speakers include
• John Abrams, Martha's Vineyard : The Island Plan: Charting the Future of the Vineyard
• Scott Timm and Ken Ross, Fairfield, Iowa: Fairfield Go-Green Strategic Plan 2020
• Rhett Lamb, Keene, New Hampshire: Moving Forward Together: Keene Community Visioning
The se presenters will discuss the meaning of green planning, as well as the opportunities, successes, and challenges encountered in their respective communities. An expo will feature local businesses and nonprofits providing green services, and a moderated discussion will focus on how to plan our transition to a green community.
The event is sponsored by Falmouth Climate Action Team in association with Cape & Islands Self Reliance, CIRenew, League of Women Voters, and Sierra Club-Cape and Islands Group.
