A lecture entitled:
"Call Us Ishmael: Floating on a Coffin in the Middle of 'Moby-Dick' "
by Professor Jim Morgan
on Sunday January 10 at 1:30 PM.
1:30 PM - 3:00 PM Jim Morgan's Moby-Dick Lecture
Jim Morgan, Chairman of the Humanities Department at Massachusetts Maritime
Academy, will present a lecture and discussion: CALL US ISHMAEL: Floating on
a Coffin in the Middle of 'Moby-Dick'.
He hopes to inspire those that have never read the novel, and those that
have begun the novel but never finished. Come with all your Moby-Dick
questions!
FREE of charge with generous support from the Falmouth Library Trustees.

The What's Falmouth Reading Moby-Dick film festival begins!
A DOUBLE FEATURE
Down to the Sea in Ships (1922) - Set in New Bedford, the whaling capitol
of America in the 1850’s , the film illustrates Quaker life and the
exploits of the whaling industry. Starring the “It” girl, Clara Bow, the
film includes scenes from an actual whale hunt.

The Essex: the True Story of Moby-Dick (1996) – A History Channel
production, it is the incredible story of the whaleship Essex, the
inspiration for Melville’s great classic.

Moby-Dick at various locations around town.
