MEET ALVIN THE SUB : 

After 4-½ years away from Woods Hole, the famous research submarine Alvin will be back at WHOI for a special event on Sunday, October 17. 

At 2:00 p.m., in Redfield Auditorium, hear from scientists and engineers about Alvin’s past, present, and future. There will be tours of Alvin from 3:00 – 4:30 p.m., in the highbay area behind the Smith Building. 

At the WHOI Ocean Science Exhibit Center, from noon – 5:00 p.m., step inside a life-sized, mock-up of the Alvin personnel sphere and see video of life at the seafloor.
