Stephen SimonAn evening of
stunning achievement!

This is how Cape Cod Times music critic W. Henry Duckham described our season opening on Saturday, September 15 . We had the delight of sharing with our audience the genius of Mozart's Linz Symphony, the virtuosity of Hindemith's Symphonic Metamorphosis , and Saint-Saëns' tour-de-force Piano Concerto No. 2 in G minor---at the hands of the exceptionally gifted, award-winning New York pianist Donna Kwong.

If you missed our last concert, please don't miss our next one: Saturday, February 16, 2013. Please save the February date, and reserve early as our concerts typically sell out. We will present three additional lesser-known gems of the classical repertoire: C.P.E. Bach's Symphony in D major; Handel's Organ Concerto No. 13 in F major, The Cuckoo and the Nightingale ; and Mendelssohn's Symphony No.4 in E minor, The Italian . The featured soloist for Handel's organ concerto will be James Jordan, cited by reviewers as a "superb performer" who plays "authoritatively and sensitively." Please join us at Falmouth Academy and bring your music-loving friends.

And there is more! The season continues on S aturday evenings March 23 and June 1 with great works by Handel, Prokofiev, Beethoven, Stravinsky, Mozart, and Schubert. Please click here for more details: Save the dates....and purchase your tickets today ! Tickets

Reviewer Lauds Creative Programming, Gifted Soloist
donna kwong

"Donna Kwong, an extraordinarily gifted pianist, was soloist in Saint-Saëns' Piano Concerto No.2 in G minor." Written in 1868, it is a quintessential Gallic composition, effervescent and ebullient with sonorous full chords contrasted with delicate, fleet passages. In contrast to the traditional concerto form in which the orchestra begins, only to withdraw by the dramatic entrance of the soloist, here the piano starts the work, announcing it is in charge from the very beginning."
-W. Henry Duckham
