#GivingTuesday | December 2
Help fishermen feed hungry families
Fishermen Leo Maher and John Tuttle pictured at The Family Pantry of Cape Cod distributing frozen dogfish fillets.
The Cape Cod Commercial Fishermen's Alliance has worked with the Family Pantry of Cape Cod since August 2013 on the "Fish for Families" project.
This pilot program has proven successful, working with some 30 fishermen to bring more than 5,000 pounds of local seafood to families in need on Cape Cod.
In order to lay the groundwork necessary to help the Fishermen's Alliance expand this program, the organization needs your financial support.
Every dollar you donate during our #GivingTuesday campaign on Tuesday, December 2 , will help us learn what it takes for local fishermen to feed more hungry families across New England. Read more.
In addition, we have an anonymous donor who will match up to $2,000 in honor of Phyllis Mason for our #GivingTuesday campaign. No donation is too small... or too large.

Man's new best friend... Dogfish?
Wednesday, December 3 | 5:30 p.m.
Join us for an informative gathering on the new dog in town - dogfish!
As cod have become depleted, Cape fishermen have adapted to new species to catch, including dogfish. As one fisherman's wife always said, "Eat dogfish today so you can eat cod tomorrow !"
Join Chatham fishermen Luther Bates and Mike Davis to learn about the domestic market challenges for dogfish and enjoy delicious dogfish tacos prepared by chef Jonathan Haffmans from Vers.
Free for Fishermen's Alliance members or $10 for non-members. Chef will go first so don't be late! To RSVP, please email or call 508-945-2432 ext. 111.
Don't forget! Our Holiday Potluck is exactly one week after Meet the Fleet on Wednesday, December 10 from 5-8 p.m. Be sure to RSVP with your guest count and dish you will bring. Bonus - it's free to all!
