Special Seminar
Making the Most of Your Presentation
Jean-luc Doumont, Principiæ
Co-sponsored by: Directorate & Communications - Redfield Auditorium

Strong presentations are a key to success for engineers, scientists, and others, yet many speakers are at a loss to tackle the task. Systematic as they otherwise can be in their work, they go at it intuitively or haphazardly, with much good will but seldom good results. In this talk, Dr. Doumont proposes a systematic way to prepare and deliver an oral presentation: he covers structure, slides, and delivery, as wall as stage fright. Dr. Doumont is an engineer from the Louvain School of Engineering and a Ph.D. in applied physics from Stanford University, who now specializes in communications for engineers and scientists in institutes, universities, and companies. He is author of the book Trees, Maps, and Theorems: Effective Communication for Rational Minds .
