Looking to try a new activity/sport this summer? I highly recommend rowing! 

Cape Cod Rowing Club is offering two adult Learn-to-Row sessions, the first on June 12-28, and the second on July 6-24 (8 classes each session). Classes are on Sunday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings, from 7:30-9am on beautiful Lake Wequaquet in Barnstable (near exit 6 on Rt 6). The coach is Alex Machi. Alex is the head rowing coach at Mass Maritime Academy. He has considerable coaching experience and a great sense of humor. The Learn-to-Row classes will give you experience with both sculling and sweep rowing. 

I did a Learn-to-Row session last summer, and I was hooked on rowing. The experienced rowers in the club are very welcoming, Alex is an excellent coach, and the classes are fun. No previous experience is required. The cost for each session is $225 - less than $30 for each 90-minute class - a good bargain. 

The club also is offering a learn-to-row program for youth (grades 7-12, roughly) from July 6-31 on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday mornings from 7-8:30am on Lake Wequaquet ($225).
