Please join WHOI, the Providence Section of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and the Providence Chapter of the Oceanic Engineering Society for the dedication of the engineering milestone “Alvin Deep-Sea Research Submersible, 1965-1984” on Friday, October 21 at 1:30 p.m. in Redfield Auditorium. A plaque will be mounted at Smith Laboratory for the unveiling following the dedication. After the reception and plaque unveiling, there will be a reception at 3:30 p.m. on Redfield Lawn. All are invited to attend. This is a commemorative event organized by the IEEE Providence Chapter of the Oceanic Engineering Society.
