This year, the Boston Foundation began hosting a three-part discussion series on the topic of reparations. In February<https://www2.tbf.org/e/547972/ions-dialogues-part-1-20220217/396l8jk/1268775538?h=mu0cocfmulS9rq8YhV6NDM0bYMbZOMuUMpg3OpZQWVg>, we explored the history of reparations in the United States with Dr. Jemadari Kamara, Chair of the UMass Boston Africana Studies Department. In April<https://www2.tbf.org/e/547972/arations-part-2-recap-20220412/396l8jn/1268775538?h=mu0cocfmulS9rq8YhV6NDM0bYMbZOMuUMpg3OpZQWVg>, we looked at reparations efforts that are moving forward in Boston, Illinois and California, with Boston City Councilor Tania Fernandes Anderson, Founder & Executive Director of First Repair , Robin Rue Simmons, and California Secretary of State Dr. Shirley Weber.
Now we invite you to a third conversation on reparations. We hope these convenings will bring more people into the conversation by making the topic accessible and covering the basic issues. We began this series with a broad conversation about the history of reparations, then focused on government action. In our next conversation we will explore models at institutions, such as health centers, higher education institutions and foundations.
