The Brewster Conservation Trust<https://brewsterconservationtrust.org/> (BCT) is currently accepting applications for our Land Stewardship Summer Internship. The intern will work closely with the BCT Land Stewardship Director and BCT volunteers to assist in a variety of projects to steward BCT properties.  This is an excellent opportunity for an individual interested in pursuing a career in the environmental field to learn first-hand the day-to-day task of managing open space.



BCT was established in 1983 as a non-profit charitable organization supported by memberships, donations, and grants. Our mission is to preserve open space, natural resources, and the rural character of Brewster and to promote a conservation ethic. BCT owns and has conservation restrictions on more than 200 parcels of land. By the end of 2023, BCT had protected more than 1,600 acres of environmentally important land.



The intern will participate in activities such as:

• Trail maintenance to accommodate public access/use (mowing, weed whacking, etc.)

• Implementing the land management plans on BCT properties

• Restoring plant and wildlife habitat; managing invasive plant species

• Helping to organize and implement outreach activities and events
