CAPE COD CRANBERRY DAY IN THE JAM KITCHEN

            Come by the Thornton Burgess Green Briar Nature Center & Jam Kitchen during Cape Cod Cranberry Day on Saturday, October 12 as they celebrate our native cranberry so prominent in the history of Cape Cod. From 10am to 2pm, enjoy a cranberry crumble dessert and cranberry bake sale served in the historic kitchen along with cooking demonstrations using traditional cranberry recipes.  Tickets for dessert are $8 at the door.  Drop in for a family story time at 10am featuring tales of Peter Rabbit and friends by renowned author Thornton W. Burgess.  Visit the gallery exhibit featuring the life and works of Burgess, who was born and raised in Sandwich and whose 150th birthday is being celebrated during 2024.  Browe in the unique Mercantile offering jams, Burgess books, and a wide variety of nature-related items and toys. Stroll the paths of the wildflower garden and grounds around the “Smiling Pool” pond.  Families may spend some time in the Green Meadow Forest and Live Menagerie for an additional fee.
