Rhode Island Sea Grant is offering a 12-session aquaculture class for participants with a foundational understanding of aquaculture who are looking to expand their knowledge of industry best practices, business strategy, and sustainable operations.


The curriculum takes a practical, industry-informed approach to common workplace aquaculture issues, with weekly topics including:

     *   Aquaculture Business 201: Economics of Shellfish Farming
     *   Staying Healthy in Aquaculture
     *   21st Century Farming Principles, Practices, and Considerations

The class runs Tuesdays 6PM-8PM from January 20—Tuesday, April 28, 2026 (no class 2/17, 3/24 or 4/21) at the University of Rhode Island Bay Campus. You may participate in person, online, or hybrid. The cost is $250. Note: this is a non-matriculating course.
