Wind and Waves

Winter storms bring wind and waves to our bay. How does it change our coastline? Let’s find out by making waves and wind on a mini coastline. Our art project will be creating a wave sculpture to take home.

Can saltwater freeze? How is it different from freshwater? Let’s find out with some salty and icy experiments. Our art project will be painting with salt.

What animals are out and about on the water's edge and on our trails? Let’s take a walk looking for tracks as well as play some animal track games. We will make an animal track to take home.

All ages welcome



Greet the New Year with energy and enthusiasm for the outdoors. Join us for a one mile winter walk at South Cape Beach State Park. Get some fresh air and meet other members of the community while enjoying the outdoors.



Hot chocolate available at the end of the walk. Heavy wind, rain, or snow will cancel.



Meet at South Cape Beach State Park, 668 Great Oak Road, Mashpee
