In early 2026, journalist Miles O’Brien joined scientists studying Antarctica’s Thwaites Glacier, a major driver of potential sea level rise. Using advanced tools across air, sea, and ice, the team investigated conditions beneath the glacier. In this lecture, O’Brien will share both the science and the challenges of the expedition, highlighting the urgency of understanding rapidly changing ice and the surprising lack of resources devoted to this critical climate threat.
