PROGRAMS AT GREEN BRIAR THROUGH AUGUST



The following programs are scheduled through August at the Thornton W. Burgess Green Briar Nature Center, 6 Discovery Hill Road, East Sandwich. Check the website of call 508-888-6870 for further details.

Amazing Animal Ambassadors continue each Wednesday morning at 10:30am where families meet wild animals up close including birds, mammals and reptiles.  Advance registration is required online at thorntonburgess.org.  Tickets are $18 per person.



Wildflower Garden Tours continue each Wednesday morning at 10:00am along the paths of the award-winning garden.  Fee for this drop-in program is $10 members, $12 non-members.



Reptiles Rock on Thursday, August 20 at 10:30am includes a mini zoo set up with 10 to 14 smaller animals presented by a Rainforest Reptile Herpetologist.  Advance registration is required online at thorntonburgess.org.  Tickets are $18 per person.



Light Trapping on Friday, August 21 at 7:30pm is an opportunity to catch and learn about bugs on a summer evening led by Barnstable County Entomologist Escher Cattle. Advance registration is required online at thorntonburgess.org.  Tickets are $15 per person.



Tuesday Tweets on August 25 at 8:30am offers a bird watching walk through the grounds of Green Briar with Naturalist Phil Kyle.  Bring binoculars and a bird file guide if you have them.  Advance registration is required online at thorntonburgess.org.  Tickets are $10 per person.



Burgess Animal Story Time on Thursday, August 27 at 10am  offer stories of Peter Rabbit, Jimmy Skunk, Reddy Fox, Grandfather Frog and many other animal characters featured in the stories of the renowned children’s author. Advance registration is not required for this drop-in program.  Members are free, non-members $5.
