BUG WALKS AT GREEN BRIAR

Bug Walks led by Barnstable County Entomologist Escher Cattle are offered at the Green Briar Nature Center in East Sandwich on Saturday, July 25 at 10am and again on Saturday, August 8 at noon.  Come and stroll the grounds to uncover and learn about the fascinating insects that call the nature center home.  Also, “Light Trapping”, catching bugs on a summer evening, is offered on Friday, August 21 at 7:30pm.  Fee for each date is $15 and space is limited. REPTILES ROCK!

Reptiles Rock, the Rainforest Reptile Show’s most popular and unique presentation, is scheduled at the Thornton W. Burgess Green Briar Nature Center on Thursdays, July 30 and August 20 at 10:30am.  This family program for adults and children ages 4 and up engages all ages at a hands-on level.  It includes a mini zoo of 10 to 14 smaller animals such as bugs, frogs, snakes and lizards.  There will be opportunities for volunteers to come up and assist the herpetologist.  After the program, everyone will have the chance to handle one of these amazing reptiles.   Fee is 418 per person.  Advance registration is required online at thorntonburgess.org.
