Dear Xenopus community,

This is just a friendly reminder regarding the upcoming Xenopus PI meeting (August 23-25 at the MBL). We look forward to a number of exciting talks and a very stimulating discussion regarding the future course of Xenopus research. We encourage you to register. A number of PIs have requested that senior post-docs that are committed to a career in Xenopus research be allowed to attend. This is a fantastic idea and we encourage their participation. This is a great opportunity for networking with the Xenopus community and for exposing the future generation of Xenopus researchers to the strengths and challenges of our community. The long term health of the Xenopus community requires continued growth in the form of post-docs maturing to the level of PI. We should all make a concerted effort to support this in any way possible. Exposing senior post-docs to the community is a positive step in this direction.

We still have a few slots open for talks and encourage anyone interested to submit an abstract via email ( Xenopus at mbl.edu ). We would be particularly interested in hearing updates on anyone using Talons, Crisper, or other transgenic approaches. Additionally, technological advances in using Xenopus as a model for cell biology is also an area that we would like to have stronger representation.

We look forward to a great meeting.
