To continue funding Xenbase, we need your support!
This is a friendly reminder, that the LoS for the Xenbase renewal are due at the end of this week, on Dec. 16th, 2024.
We hope we can count on you!
If you haven’t already done so, please email your LoS to Xenbase at cchmc.org<mailto:Xenbase at cchmc.org>
Template Letter of Support for Xenbase:
Address LoS to:
Drs. Aaron Zorn and Peter Vize,
Directors, Xenbase
• Express your support for the Xenbase renewal.
• Mention how renewal of Xenbase was identified as the most critical, immediate need of the Xenopus Research Community at the October 2024 XRET meeting and in the 2025 White Paper (to be out soon).
• Briefly describe your research, listing previous and current NIH grants (or any NIH funded collaborations).
• Explain how vital access to Xenbase is to your research and/or teaching.
• Describe which features of Xenbase your lab uses and how frequently you/your trainees use Xenbase (how many times a day/week?).
• Possible features to emphasize include the availability to the most up to date genomes and genomics, support for human disease modeling, & our data sharing infrastructure, and ‘static’ or ‘educational’ content (images movies, protocols, reagents modules, cell fates maps).
• How does Xenbase compare to other model organism databases that you use?
• Finally, explain how your research would be impacted if Xenbase ceased to exist.
Please print your LoS on your institutional letter head and don’t forget to sign your name, and include in your email and position.
THANK YOU!
