The Woods Hole Historical Museum will open for the holidays with a special exhibit of paintings and panoramic photographs that are among the staff's favorites. It includes paintings by William Littlefield, Gertrude Whiting, Charles Knight (who painted the first pictures of dinosaurs, for New York's Museum of Natural History), Peggy Clark Kelly, and an early anonymous American traveling portraitist. Among the large photographs is one, showing a local harbor, that measures 13 feet.
