NEW ENGLAND COTT ON TAIL IDENTIFICATION TRAINING 


WHEN: Thursday, December 17, 2009 

TIME: 10:00 am - 2:30 pm 

WHERE: Waquoit Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve, 149 Waquoit Highway (Rte. 28), Waquoit , MA. For directions please go to: http://www.waquoitbayreserve.org/directions.asp 

DESCRIPTION: This workshop will provide information on the biology, status, and habitat need of the threatened New England Cott on tail rabbit and train interested persons in survey methods that may be used to identify existing populations. (Note: This species is different than the more common Eastern Cottontail rabbit that you are likely to see in open areas - yards, fields etc.) Please see attached flyer for a detailed workshop description, agenda and registration instructions. 

COST: There is no cost to attend but pre-registration is required. Please register at www.waquoitbayreserve.org . Registration closes today (Wednesday, December 16) at noon. 

TARGET AUDIENCE: Land Managers, Land Trusts, Park Supervisors, Conservation Agents and Commissioners, Natural Resource Officers
